IF you are not sure what to do today – Saturday, June 17 – then why not go to one of these events?

Gibberd Garden Beer Festival, Harlow:

The Gibberd Garden Trust and the Herts & Essex Borders Branch of CAMRA will be hosting a beer festival at the gardens in Marsh Lane, Harlow, both today and tomorrow.

The event, which runs from noon to 8pm on both days, with last admission at 7pm, will be offering a selection of more than 40 beers, ciders and perry in one of the most tranquil garden settings to consume them in.

A barbecue will be offering food up until 5pm and there will also be teas, hot and cold snacks and cakes up until 6pm.

Tomorrow there will also be entertainment for families including children’s games, ferret racing and a children’s story teller.

Admission will be £4 for adults, £3 for CAMRA members on production of a valid membership card, £3 for students and over 60s, £1 for children from five to 16, and free for under fives.

Please be aware that no picnics are allowed during the event.

All Saints’ Medieval Fete, Feering:

All Saints Parish Church will be holding a Medieval Fete in the gardens of Ferringbury Manor, in Coggeshall Road, Feering, today from 12.30pm to 4.30pm

During the event there will be a performance from the Thameside Mummers as well as Medieval archery and falconry.

Enjoy food, wine and beer from Coggeshall producers, and cream teas and a champagne draw.

There will also be market stalls, a bouncy castle, a fancy dress competition, sand art, lace and basket making, weaving and spinning demonstrations, and a tombola.

Dress up for the event and make or buy your very own Medieval headdresses, swords and shields.

Entrance will be £3 for adults and free for children, with free parking on offer in the grounds as well as a free bus service from Coggeshall, Kelvedon and Feering.

Music in the Woods Summer Concert at Belfairs Woodland Centre, Leigh-on-Sea:

Head to Belfairs Woodland Centre, in Eastwood Road North, this evening for a free Music in the Woods Summer Concert.

The open air concert, which takes place from 6.30pm to 9pm in the area adjacent to the woodland centre, will feature some of Essex’s most talented musicians.

The centre will also be open for food and drink throughout the evening.

Strawberry Fair at Shenfield Common, Brentwood:

Brentwood’s popular Strawberry Fair will return to Shenfield Common today from noon to 6pm.

The event, which is free to visit, will include fun and entertainment for the whole family.

See local performers, singers and dancers, visit craft stalls, and enjoy local beer, Pimms, food and drinks, as well as strawberries and cream.

Queen’s Gun Salute and Young Children’s Festival at Castle Park, Colchester:

Two events are being held at Castle Park, off High Street, Colchester, today and both offer free entry.

A 21 gun salute and military marching band will be mark Her Majesty the Queen’s official birthday today between 11am and 1pm, while a Young Children’s Festival will be offering workshops and activities for all the family from 10.30am to 4pm.

There will also be support stands for parents and carers.
