TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR starlets, Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah, played lead roles as England lifted the FIFA Under-20 World Cup following a 1-0 victory over Venezuela in Suwon, South Korea.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin followed up to score the only goal of the game during the first half, while Newcastle United goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman, son of former Colchester United and Southend United loanee stopper, Andy Woodman, brilliantly saved a penalty from Adalberto Penaranda this after Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter was adjudged to have tripped the same player.

Onomah, who made his Spurs debut in a 4-2 FA Cup replay victory over Burnley at White Hart Lane in 2015, was a whisker away from doubling the Young Lions lead with a thundering thirty-yard strike that cannoned off the underside of the crossbar. But England was not to be denied their first football World Cup success since their senior side saw off West Germany at Wembley Stadium fifty-one years ago.
