THIEVES ransacked a Thurrock home and stole five guns during a burglary last week, said Essex Police.

The property in Mollands Lane, South Ockendon, was broken into via a side window.

The crooks conducted a ’messy search’ and stole items ’including five firearms’.

A police spokesman said: “Officers would like to speak to witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time or who has been offered items for sale recently and is suspicious about where they came from.”

The break-in occurred between 3pm and 4.30pm on Friday, June 2.

Anyone with information was urged to call Grays CID by dialling 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
